I love it when a plan comes together

Is this thing on?! Hello? Anybody there? Look’s like it’s working fine!

Alright then, the site’s up and running and it’s my first time coding up a theme from scratch!

One thing I learnt about themes is that it’s much easier building one up from the ground than editing an existing theme. How many of you guys have ever tried taking something apart and tried to put it back again, only to find out it looks totally different from before? I bet there are a couple here.

Taking a theme apart reverse engineer and try to understand the tons of code from the developer take up precious time and does not really benefit me in learning more about themes. Building up a theme allows me to have greater flexibility and also control on over the things I want and how I want it to be displayed. It’s amazing how much things you can do to themes.

Mockup above!

Currently, the home, products, gallery and contact pages are up and running and it simply looks great! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out although there are some parts here and there that needs a little improvement. Just write your posts and tag them in their respective categories – e.g Books goes into the category “Products”. Please use only the following categories; News, Products, Events. You can further tag them using ‘Post Tags’.

Of course, building a theme does not mean it’s bound to be successful overnight. That’s where you guys come in! I need user feedback on the theme so as to improve on future revisions of the theme. Leave a comment here and I’ll be more than happy to take a look.

P.S It’s been a long time since I’ve written on a blog. This feeling of nostalgia is pretty interesting indeed :)

I have noticed that images would automatically align to the left of a post. Am working to get that fixed!
