The first Kaleidoscope back in 2007 saw CDS’ debut as an initiative by a group of art enthuiasts with lofty dreams of conquering the local illustration scene with their unique pop-culture inspired art direction and to promote local creative talents to the Singapore community.
Over the years, CDS grew in strength to be a popular and well-regarded team of artists, actively engaging with the community and producing high quality illustrations for their fans while having plenty of fun!
Now, as an indie studio with a large international following online, CDS works closely with companies and agencies to create beautiful concept illustrations and popular branding visuals. Reflecting the studio’s origins, CDS also continue to advise and support student-led initiatives such as Extravaganza to provide more platforms for aspiring artists to debut.

A studio lives and dies by the tireless, enthusiastic team behind it.
CDS is proud to call these talents with us our own!
The resident character designer, WaHa has done animation, manga and illustrations. He had drawn girls, fluffy animals and spacecrafts. One day, there will be a furry girl piloting a space-craft in there.
And he insists on avoiding most human contact whenever possible. Fat hope. Watch out for his regular #wahawednesday!
Space Penguin is a penguin from space *duh* who is also a closet hikkikomori with otaku tendencies. She tries not to appear too otaku but we all know the truth. Once in a while, she will also turn up in cosplay too.
Probably the most versatile among all of us when it comes down to art direction, she’s the one we go to to get things done!
One of the most popular and very well-in-tuned with the fandom. He is the mastermind behind all those weird comics that the rest of us always shake our head disapprovingly at. But those have made him the monstrous powerhouse that amazes us to no end. We have created a monster.
The other half of the Black Label Team. Formally, Semi-Shigure. Usually more quiet but can get vocal about her passion. Which given her vast knowledge and interest, is quite common. Expect to see plenty of cute art from her!
He is Usanekorin and he is glad to meet you. An extraordinary artist, clients have commented that he should draw cute girls for a living. And THAT is precisely what he intends to do.
Haimerejzero. Such is the name muttered angrily by DigiPen students when they see their sem-pai’s work being used as yet another example of what they should aim for. Now working with one of the highest profile game company in Singapore, he is the artist to look out for. We have high hopes for him. Go be a big name!
That said, nowadays, he just wants to play his FFXIV. Hurry up and play some other games!
IdleErrant, previously Manzart, was with us from the start. Unlike the rest, his works carries some western influence. Which the Westerners like a lot. He also has the distinct honor of being the only one among us who is married.
One half of the Black Label Team. Her vast forbidden knowledge is something to behold. The knowledge also very entertaining even if it corrupts your soul at the same time. I will never look at Arashi no Yoru ni the same way.
Have you once heard about this legendary fanboy who loves his fictional high-school idols and the voice actresses behind them? He has traveled far and wide in his pursuit of fandom and one day, you might just meet him at the CDS booth?
Also known as Mr. JUN, he is very popular with his legion of ex-students. Every once in a while, his ex-students will approach our booth looking for Mr. JUN and he will emerge from the back of the booth with a mixture of embarrassment and pride.
Our salesperson. What can we do without him? (Ans: Stand around, avoid human contact and hope people buys our art automatically) When he is not doing death-defying stunts, he is also an agent for the Empire/First Order.
The team manager and non-illustrator within the team. He manages the team's various online presence, the many external liaison and internal communications. If you want to ask about pric-ing, he is the one you talk to. Tweet him hi!
