BANNED! (only at NUS) and other news

Just thought we’d like to bring this issue up while we sort through the pile of artworks that we have received over the submission period.**

**EDIT: It looks like a storm is flaring up. Also, more narrow-mindeness at NUS

Apparently, some ‘moral activists’ over at the management side of NUS decided that the poster was ‘TOO RISQUE’ (explain that to me again, please) and has banned the distribution of posters in the campus (negating much of the hard work of our NUS organisers. Orz). so much for the 21st century. Im pretty sure FHM and alot of other magazines (and red alert 3) are much more showy than our poster, but i guess everyone has their own double standards.  Whoever the prude is, here’s a big FUCK YOU from CDS. thanks alot!

Now, on to more positive news, it appears that Comics connection loves our posters and has decided to paste them up at their outlets allover the island (thats 30+ outlets. woot)!

In light of this, I’ve decided to do a little mini contest for any of our readers out there. whoever can snap shots of the posters at the various comics connections and compile as many of them as possible (at each outlet, of course) gets a super special prize from me. Of course, please bring proof of the photos!

We will be sorting through the artworks this weekend and once again, the organizers and I would like to extend our thanks to all those artists who selflessly contributed their personal works and put in all those hours into making it look good! Of course, due to our space constraints we will have to omit some works, but rest assured that we will try our best to accommodate everyone.

Please do come and visit us on the exhibiton days and see if you can find new drawing buddies or peers to exchange tips with!

    BANNED???!!!

What does it say about the management side at NUS? There’s probably more couples dominating around in your dorms than you would know of.

    Solve that first.

Unless you telling me that place is a dominating religious ground. I bet i can find a condom with cum inside lying around somewhere in the campus. If not, then that means they are cumming inside. simple as that.

In any case. This is another case of some of our sickeningly conservative singapore male mentality, you guys have a DOMINATING DICK, the least you can do is let it get some blood, stop depriving yourselves man.

If you are gonna scream at a 2d girl, your pen0s veins will probably burst if you see a real one’s Kitty, Buttockholes.

I hope krauser will dominate you in the donkey, then your parents’ donkey, whoever you are.

You better not have kids in the future too, cuz that’s dominating your partner, and you cant dominate without seeing his/her genitals, and that’s risque, and you can’t take it. :)

    *edit: Censorship with babel wins*

Too bad if they don’t want to use it, I guess. It’s their campus and they set the rules, though I don’t see anything wrong with the poster.

    orz….. my artwork…

If i know this would happened i would have draw some loli DFC for them to fap about since its just WALL. Kinda ridiculous why it is ban, maybe this is the reason why Singaporean need to up their sex education since the students dunno which hole to put in(I doubt so, there is internet). But anyway we’ll be good enough with Comics Connection’s help.

    It’s a compliment.

well, i would say that at the very least it drew attention (of the wrong kind).

I was at a comics connection today and saw quite a few people staring at it…so i think we’re fine.

I see no biggie with the poster. I seen more skin on Maxim (My fave mag :P). I guess they couldnt handle it being a loli and dun want to be seen as encouraging loli-fetishes.

Made me angry to know that there are still people with narrow & shallow minded mindset (especially in the supposed ‘Elites’ of Singapore).

Nothing can be done about this. Take the hit and move on (I wouldnt call it a punch, let alone a pinch). Somehow this would generate more interest in the poster and more people will find out about the event. Well at least thats wat i think.

I like to see the silver lining in dark clouds. Controversy is publicity.

    @Xiaoxu

Thanks for being so forthright about your fetishes…but thats not the point isnt it.

**BTW if you are really under age, I would suggest that you put aside your porn and concentrate on being a great person.**

Their decision pisses me off as an otaku. Its like its, we decided this, you have NO SAY.

Lame man, i can’t belive the majority of students support such conservative close minded losers for management.

Whatever, nothing beats contrevorsy for great advertising. Even more so when there is nothing vulgar about the damn poster to begin with.
